Following the Government announcement regarding the opening of public houses, Christchurch Sailing Club is delighted to welcome back members to enjoy the bar from the 10th July. The following guidelines and measures are designed to ensure the safety and health of our members and staff.

The water system has been inspected and treated to protect against Legionella by a specialist company.

All areas of club house have been deep cleaned followed by Bio Mist Fogging by a specialist company.

The cleaning will continue each day that the club is open using special viral cleaning products.

The club room, bar and balcony will be open each week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 noon until 8.00pm, serving drinks only.

The coffee machine and water fountain are available during bar opening times. Clean wipes are in place.

The library is closed, and the air conditioning units are switched off.

The bar is protected by Perspex screens and the staff are wearing PPE.

From 12 noon to 2pm there will be table service. Members arriving as a group are requested to sit at a table inside or on the balcony and place their order with the roaming bar staff member. For anyone drinking outside down on the Hard, they should enter via the main door and queue alongside the hatch for bar service and then exit via the training room doors. From 2pm 8pm there will be bar service only. Members should queue alongside the hatch, maintaining social distancing, until served. Once served, another member of their party may join then to take the drinks away.

Drinks will only be served in plastic glasses, please put your empties in the bins provided. To reduce trips to the bar jugs of beer and lager are available.

Bar Cards are back in use, please read the separate section at the end of this newsletter regarding their use.

Wall mounted hand sanitizers are installed at the entrance to the club, the entrance and exit to the club room, bar and balcony. These must be used. Signs are in place.

Entrance to the club and club room is accessed only by the main front doors.

All members must use their fob to enter the club as we are required to keep a record of attendance. Members attending with visitors must put the visitor's name, address and mobile phone number in the designated Covid-19 visitor's book inside the clubroom doors.

There is a one-way system operating with the exit from the club room for all members via the training room door down the rear balcony stairs. The front balcony stairs are not in use and are tapped off. Signs will show the way.

The lift is sanitized and in use and can be used by 2 people from the same family. Entrance and exit by lift is the only exception to the one way system and consideration must be given to its users.

The entry and exit doors to the clubroom and balcony are open to provide ventilation.

The toilets are open, but the club room one-way system must apply when using them.

The inside disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are open and only accessed by the lift.

The tables and chairs in the club room and on the balcony have been placed to ensure social distancing, these must not be moved. Tape marks the designated places. Food may not be consumed in the Clubroom or on the Balcony, other than snacks sold at the Bar. However, picnic food may be consumed on the Hard with our request that you take the packaging and waste home when you leave.

Children must be seated with their family.

All members using the club, clubroom, balcony and hard must adhere to the Government social distancing guidelines. Signs are in place.

The final guideline is that we hope that all members returning to enjoy a drink at their club have fun, keep safe and please respect the measures in place.
