Photogroup

30th October 2018, 14:00 - 16:00

Hello everyone.

We hope you have all had a good Summer. Certainly the weather was amazing. Now it's October already and our first session of the 2018/19 programme is about to commence. So welcome back to our members and some new ones too.

Our first session is on Tuesday 30th October at 2-4 pm in the Training Room. Roger will be doing a review on Creative Tools and there will be a critique of our Summer homework which was to produce one print of our favourite photograph from the holidays.

Attached is a draft programme for 2018/19 with a really good mixture of sessions and outings. However, it is a working draft and there will be some changes to come. Notably, on 6th November, we will now have Alan Crockard giving us the lowdown on photographing birds in their habitat. We hope to follow this up with a Photowalk session after Christmas on Stanpit Marsh when Alan, together with Dave Taylor from the CHOG website, will guide us and help the group to photograph the birds in their natural habitat. Date to be announced.

The session originally planned for 6th November when members can present and demonstrate software they use will probably now take place on 4th December. Don't worry, all will become clear.

A reminder to all that Roger set us a 4 Seasons Project which will be reviewed on 26th March. For the benefit of our new members, we have been asked to select four photos we have taken over the year - one for each season - which best represent that season. Autumn is now upon us, so don't forget to take your Autumn season photographs.

There is NO exhibition next year, but a reminder that entries for the photo competition will need to be in by 31st January 2019 so still a little time left.

The categories are: Manipulated Images

Local Landscape

Sailing

We look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday and don't forget to bring with you one favourite print each for the Summer homework, camera, instruction manual and notebook.

See you then.

Best wishes,

Hilly & Sal
