Cruisers

Racing and cruising yachts at Christchurch Sailing Club are about 6 to 12 metres in length, mostly lift keel or bilge keel due to draught limitations in Christchurch Harbour. There is an active racing programme of over 35 races organised from Easter to October. As well as series and trophy races, there are a number of special races which allow skippers to choose their own start time to maximise the tide. These races are often won by the slower boats. All racing is run on a Personal Handicap System which is intended to give all participating boats a chance.

Welcome to the CSC Cruiser Rally Programme.

CSC is renowned as one of the most active rallying clubs on the South Coast. Rallies vary in size from 15 boats up to 50 at the final Yarmouth Rally. We put on about 10-11 rallies each season at a variety of venues within easy reach of Christchurch, as well as somewhere in France for Bastille Day on 14 July. The rally co-ordinators are Martin and Hills Dancey. The rallies themselves are organised by a number of volunteers. Rallies typically include pontoon parties, a meal or BBQ and other social activities. Rallies are a great way to meet club members and make new friends. You can take part in as few or as many as you like. We always welcome new ralliers. If you would like to find out more do not hesitate to contact Martin or Hills or any of the organisers. Booking for rallies is through the Club's SCM system

Note: Cherbourg Marina offers the equivalent of a 20% discount off mooring charges, which includes electricity, also free showers to CSC members on production of their membership card.
