FINN OPEN EVENT 19th-20th September
Published 18:23 on 18 Sep 2020
The weekend saw an entry of 30 boats from many clubs for the Finn Masters and Open. The event went extremely well and the weather helped by being sunny and breezy to help enable social distancing for the briefing, catering and prize giving.
Drew Barnes was the youngest competitor at 18 and the age range extended to 80! Simon Percival was the first CSC Finn and Ray New the first Legend. The event was run by Paul Butler as RO who was complimented by all, coping with wind shifts and a difficult 'run' back in from the bay, where safety was carefully watched over.
Thanks must go to all the CSC Finn sailors, particularly Simon Percival and Richard Phillips for race management and organisation- the arrival and departure of so many boats, and the car park clearance was magical! Thanks also to the caterers and all club members for supporting the event.
A great Open Event in difficult times, well managed by CSC and the many volunteers who assisted on and of the water- thank you to all!!
