A Christmas Message from your Commodore...
Published 17:27 on 22 Dec 2021
May I start by wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a healthy 2022, on behalf of myself and Roger, my fellow officers and the General Committee members.
This year started with the country in lockdown but once restrictions were eased it still proved a difficult year for some, despite this I hope that you have kept safe, well and enjoyed as much as you were able. Once released from HMG Covid lock-down, your Officer team and committee have endeavoured to offer members full use of the club facilities and encouraged your return to CSC both on and off the water.
However, regrettably the virus continues in a mutated form and there are obvious health concerns for all. The club team will monitor the situation, follow any guidance measures issued by HMG and plan or amend club activities accordingly. Obviously many of you are keen to stay safe in order to celebrate Christmas with your families and friends this year, unlike the severe restrictions limiting Christmas festivities last year.
Our Hospitality team have planned meals each day up to and including Christmas eve, through into the New Year, however due to the continuing presence of the virus your PM Boris and team may impose restrictions after Christmas. This was discussed Monday night's General Committee meeting, it was decided not to cancel any events unless advised otherwise by Government legislation. The Sailing and Racing programme will continue and the Clubroom cloakrooms will remain open, but if advised, we may have to reintroduce the same restrictions as before. You will all be kept informed of any changes.
The club bar will be open for a limited time on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but will be closed on the 27th and 28th. We hope to see you!
Please note the Club Office is closing from 1pm Wednesday 22nd December and reopens on Wednesday 5th January.
Stay safe and well.
Best wishes Bridget.
