"What's Happening on the Water"

Published 19:52 on 10 Oct 2018

Last Sunday saw the final two races of the prestigious Harbour Interclub, raced between Highcliffe, Mudeford, Hengisbury Head Sailing Clubs and ourselves. We were lying second and had some points to catch up on Mudeford who were in the lead. My call to all you Dinghy sailors to take part in the last two races worked. We fielded 26 boats on the day and our sailors did us proud, we overtook Mudeford on points and "WON THE HARBOUR INTERCLUB!!" A big thank you from me. Over the Series, 64 boats took part. Steve Hayles was our top sailor who was 4th Overall, with Chris Arnell and Keith Mitchell 5th and 6th. Flynn Atkins came in 8th overall. Also well done to our youngest competitor, Mads Fry, who in her Optimist came 16th overall, with her best position in the 3rd race of 4th!! The full results can be seen on the Mudeford SC website, as well as a list shown on the notice board of all those who will receive trophies and prizes at the Supper and Prizegiving at our Club on Friday 26th October. Let's enjoy our success on the evening and make our guests welcome from the other Harbour Sailing Clubs.

A reminder that this Sunday is the end to Summer storage and the penultimate races of the Saturday and Sunday Autumn Series.
