New Club RIB

The club has now ordered a brand new XS 500 5.0 metre RIB as our new club escort boat. Delivery is expected before craning-in, so the boat should be available as soon as the new sailing season starts.

The new RIB will be a Class C boat, capable of operating at sea in much rougher conditions than our current RIBs. It will be fitted with a Mariner 60hp outboard, compatible with our current fleet of engines and will also have a towing post for towing dinghies.

Once the new boat is delivered, Shepherd (one of our current two RIBs) will go for re-tubing which will significantly increase her operational lifespan.

The new boat will need to be named: if you have any good ideas, please pass them on to the club Office. A suitable reward may be offered to the best idea.
