"What's Happening on the Water W/C 22/10/2018"

Published 06:53 on 26 Oct 2018

Last Weekend saw the last of the Autumn Series. Unfortunately on Saturday the wind was just good enough to start racing, but it soon died and the racing was abandoned for the day. Sunday was a little better and most competitors managed to finish the course in very light airs. Winners overall of the Saturday Autumn Series were: Class 4 John Ridout in his Solo. Scow Class, Graham Fairbrass. Winners of the Sunday Autumn Series were: Class 4, Flynn Atkins in his Laser 4.7. Scow Class, Graham Fairbrass, and Class 5 winner was Keith Barkway in his Mirror "Swallow."

This weekend sees the start of the winter series with racing in the harbour for all fleets. There will be separate Race Officers for the two fleets. On Saturday Graham Fairbrass is Race officer for the Scow Fleet. Paul de La Feuillade is race officer for the Finn Class and 4 & 5.

Please note that the Club Handbook says that Sunday's Race for the Scows is a club line start. It will be a harbour start at 11.00, so please be there in good time.

Friday is the Interclub Supper and Prize Giving. At the time of going to press we have 52 people sitting down to supper, the vast majority from our neighbouring clubs. The prizes will be handed out at 8pm, so if you are not eating come along and support the evening.

See you on the water this weekend
