"What's Happening on the Water

The weather forecasts beat us last weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The only race that took place was Class 4 and Finn's on Saturday morning with a start at 9am. That was just after dark. !! We should not cancel races the day before a scheduled race because of the weather forecast, as they are invariably wrong.

This Saturday is the Race Officer Seminar in the training room, starting at 9.30am. I would like to see a good turnout, particularly new Associate Members who have joined this season, as well members who really do need a refresher. I will be on hand with Richard Phillips. We hope to finish the course on the launches, weather permitting.

The Dinghy Programme for 2019 is now displayed in the club, and I would ask you to please add your names to the duty lists. If you have not had any experience on the escort boats, we welcome you to put your name down for an assistant race officer or assistant crew.

Last Saturday's Dinner and Prize Giving at the Queens Hotel was a roaring success and I would like to thank all Class Captains who put together their individual prize presentation with aplomb and hilarity.

Next Racing is on 22nd and 23rd of December. Let's hope the weather is good
